French and Spanish Classes

I am running a language business as a La Jolie Ronde Licensee and freelance, offering French and Spanish classes to children from the age of 3 to 11 and French for adult learners

About Sophie

Sophie is an experienced and trained language teacher, licensee of La Jolie Ronde. She is a French Native, bilingual in English and has a University Degree in Spanish and English.

 

Sophie holds a Certificate in Education (Manchester Metropolitan University) and a NVQ2 Teaching Assistant (Stockport College).

 

Sophie also holds a Early Years First Aid Certificate gained with the St John Ambulance

Learning with Fun and Passion

I am passionate about languages and would like to communicate and spread my enthusiasm about learning foreign languages as it is such a good tool not only for travelling but to extend business relations abroad, building closer business relationships using the language of the country.

 

My intentions have always been to provide a language class which is fun, relaxing and where learning takes place in a natural way so it becomes enjoyable and easily assimilated.

 

From my past experience, at any age, the more enjoyable, the more motivating. Motivation will then lead to more memorising so a nice learning cycle is then established.

For Children

3 is the most natural age to start a language as secondary school children are embarrassed and under-confident about languages once they reach the age of 11 unless they had started languages at a very early age. From the age of 3, children copy and reproduce a genuine pronunciation and memorise new words with great confidence.

 

We learn our mother tongue from being born, so a second language can be easily added once English is established as a first language communication tool.

 

My daughters are a prime example, the eldest is now tri-lingual (English, French, Spanish) and my second daugher is bilingual with an A Level in French.

 

Learning a language improves self-confidence, stimulates imagination and helps make new friends and you can have fun whilst learning.

 

La Jolie Ronde has been at the forefront of modern language teaching since 1983.

 

For adults: It is never too late to start or revise French. Classes are tailored to the speed of the learner’s so are never daunting.
